Description: –
SANJH launched the “Preventable Blindness & Eye Health of Children” initiative, addressing a critical public health concern by empowering teachers to detect early signs of eye health issues among school children. This initiative was crucial in tackling preventable childhood blindness, particularly in underserved areas where access to specialized eye care is limited. Total (122) teachers from District Kot Addu and District Muzaffargarh were trained to conduct basic eye health screening, enabling early detection of vision problems. By training teachers to assess visual acuity and identify early symptoms of eye conditions, SANJH created a sustainable system for ongoing eye health monitoring. The initiative also raised awareness about the importance of eye health, the causes of childhood blindness and preventive measures, ultimately fostering healthier learning environments and improving in order to stop drop out ratio in schools.
